Smetana’s “Moldau” and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade summon images of exotic locales and whispered plans. Gifted cellist Matt Haimovitz performs the challenging and intricate Cello Concerto by Saint-Saens.

100% clean. 99.27% hilarious. For over 10 years GreenRoom has been performing their unique improv show for thousands of people both old and young alike. Now they are bringing that show for an extended stay to the Hemmens’ lower level 200-seat Cabaret Theater in the Round!

Imagine an hour and a half of complete improvisation, a la Whose Line is it Anyway? GreenRoom’s improvisers take audience suggestions and true-life audience stories and turn them into hilarious theatre pieces right before your eyes! GreenRoom Productions, a semi-professional ensemble-based theatre company that specializes in improvisation, produces a full season of shows each year including musicals, plays, improv, and original sketch comedy. GreenRoom was founded by a group of Judson University (Elgin, IL) students in 1999 as a result of the cancellation of the school's Theatre program. Since then GreenRoom has performed nationally for a wide range of audiences and events.

With competing improv teams, improvised songs, audience members on stage, and tons of energy, these family-friendlyshows are ones you won’t soon forget. Oh, and did we mention there’s a live band? 35th Annual Elgin Valley Fox Trot

It just wouldn't be Memorial Weekend without the Fox Trot! Well this year, it is coming even sooner as the event has been moved to Memorial Saturday May 26, 2012. As usual, the event will feature a 10 m ile race, the 5k and a 2 mile fun walk. But you can expect something a little extra too as we celebrate 35 years of this great Elgin event.
