The Hemmens Cultural Center offers you the rare opportunity to experience legendary entertainers and world-class performing artists in an intimate setting. Located on the Fox River in downtown Elgin, The Hemmens' acoustically superb 1,200-seat theater has been the platform for dynamite performances by mega-stars such as B.B. King, Willie Nelson, Bob Newhart, Ray Price and Gin Blossoms.
The 2008-2009 Season features the finest in entertainment. The Hemmens continues the tradition of entertainment and education through the arts with the Performing Arts for Young People , featuring the classic stories of Charlotte's Web, Junie B. Jones and many others. The Hemmens intimate setting offers no seat farther than 87 feet from the stage (see a seating chart)!
The Elgin Symphony Orchestra, twice named Illinois Symphony of the Year, and numerous Elgin performing arts groups call the Hemmens home.
You may also rent space in the Hemmens Cultural Center for your performances, parties and meetings. The Hemmens contains an 11,340 square-foot exhibition hall, a fully-equipped banquet kitchen, an art gallery and meeting rooms. With free parking and easy access from major routes I-90, Rt. 31, Rt. 59 and Rt. 20, the Hemmens Cultural Center is ideal for your entertainment enjoyment or event (get directions to The Hemmens).
